Project on Social Work promoting Social Cohesion in Europe |

|
Improving social cohesion is one of the main tasks and aims of the COUNCIL OF EUROPE in the coming years.
In 2005-2006 IFSW Europe developed in Europe a project with the subject: Social Work promoting Social Cohesion in Europe. Social work is a human rights profession which promotes social cohesion in different areas and situations. Social work makes an important contribution to civil society in Europe. The role of social workers is always changing and it is therefore important that member organisations share their experiences about the problems and challenges facing social workers and work together to find solutions. |

WORKSHOPS
The Project Social Work in Europe Promoting Social Cohesion, organised within IFSW Europe, involved a number of workshops bringing together member organisations. |

|
Three workshops (Vienna, Paris and Birmingham), gathering 18 countries all together, discussed how social work in Europe can promote social cohesion within the participating countries as well as within Europe as a whole. The Statement on Social Cohesion produced to complete the project is now available to download.
The final report of the project is also available to download. For more information regarding the project please contact the IFSW European Secretariat
