Global Standards

Standards of social work education are of particular importance to our organisations, the International Federation of Social Workers and the International Association of Schools of Social Work. Thus, in 2002 we set out to establish qualifying standards for social work education that would introduce consistency and unity in social work teaching but nevertheless take due account of local, cultural and historical perspectives. In 2004 Global Standards for the Education and Training of the Social Work Profession was endorsed by both organisations and, for the first time, establishes international benchmarks for social work education and training.
