United Kingdom: Campaign to recruit social workers
In the United Kingdom a new campaign has been launched to encourage people to become social workers. The campaign aims to show some of the real life issues which social workers work with. Well known actors like Samantha Morton, Sadie Frost, the former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan, Emilia Fox, of Silent Witness fame, musician Goldie, Skins star Nicholas Hoult and Joanna Pagehave joined this campaign telling about the impact that social workers make.
The British campaign is supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Health who, working together, have responsibility for national policy on social work.
