Biography:
Mayaka is an international and inclusive social work practitioner specialising in social protection and development, with proven expertise across child protection, youth work, medical social work, and participatory practice. As a key advocate for professional development, he actively advances indigenous and international social work practice, notably through his writing on Ubuntu social work. He currently serves as a member of the IFSW Secretariat (since 2020) and trains international social work professionals at HAN University. His research and focus areas include children and family, migration studies, resiliency, international relations, and fostering inclusive social development through an Afrocentric lens that prioritizes sustainable societal well-being.
As a members of the IFSW Secretariate; he serves as the Global Administrator and participated in the facilitation of IFSW Global Online conference 2020, and the IFSW Africa Region international conference 2021.
