
The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW North America) is inviting applications for up to five (5) volunteer positions as Regional Representatives to the UN Office in New York. These individuals advocate for social work values at the United Nations and collaborate on initiatives that align with social work principles.
Representatives will highlight the social solutions that can be achieved through applying the profession’s principles and methodologies as a framework for achieving social justice, inclusive, participatory democracy, sustainable, peaceful societies, and social transformation for equality and rights.
Role Overview:
- Represent the social work profession within the UN framework.
- Focus on specific themes (e.g., social protection, Indigenous issues, and health) relevant to global social work and coordinated through the IFSW Commission.
- These positions have 4-year terms that can be renewable.
Who Should Apply:
- Applicants should have experience in policy and advocacy.
- We are seeking candidates from Canada and the United States. We aim to increase regional diversity within our team.
