
The Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) has released its 2025 Annual Report, showcasing a year marked by significant advocacy achievements, expanded professional development, and strengthened national and international partnerships. Key highlights include the successful campaign to include social workers in the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program and the national rollout of the Social Work in Primary Care initiative.
The report details CASW’s leadership on equity, mental health parity, anti-racism, and reconciliation, while also highlighting its expanding continuing education offerings and support for internationally educated social workers.
Reflecting on the report, Barb Whitenect, CASW President and Vice-President of IFSW North America, stated: “This past year has been transformative for CASW and for the profession across Canada. From shaping national policy to uplifting diverse voices within the profession, the 2025 Annual Report tells a story of collective action, progress, and vision.
