Respecting and enforcing human rights is an essential responsibility for every social worker. I am delighted to announce that Marcin Boryczko is our Representative to the Global Human Rights Commission. I invite our member organisations to cooperate with Marcin in all cases when human rights are in risks (Ana Radulescu – IFSW President)
Marcin is a member of the Polish Federation of Social Workers and Social Services Employees Union and engaged in the struggle for respecting social workers ‘labour rights. He is conducting research and writing publications on violence in social work practice and the work condition of Polish social workers. As far as concerns our ongoing collaboration, Dr Marcin Boryczko is developing structural and substantive framework for social work education and practice to address, in particular, growing demands for refugee claims, immigrant resettlement and engaging human rights perspective into de curriculum of social work programmes (Polska Federacja Związkowa Pracowników Socjalnych i Pomocy Społecznej)
As IFSW European Representative to Global Human Rights Commission, Marcin will:
- Coordinate the Federation’s input to the Commission and the IFSW Europe President and Executive;
- Consult IFSW Europe members about and draft responses to policy documents;
- Present an annual report to the IFSW European Delegates Meeting.
- Provide a brief quarterly written or verbal report on their activities to the IFSW European President;
