The Commonwealth Organisation for Social Work (COSW) invites social workers, students, educators, and allies from across the Commonwealth to the Fourth Annual COSW Policy Forum on Saturday, 13 September 2025.
Under the theme “Reframing Social Work During Global Turbulence: Commonwealth Opportunities”, this year’s forum will reflect on how social work responds to unpredictable and challenging times, and how local experiences can inform Commonwealth-wide and global debates.
The event will be held online with two parallel sessions to enable participation from all time zones:
Session 1: 06.00 – 07.30 UTC/GMT
Session 2: 16.00 – 17.30 UTC/GMT
The programme includes:
- Welcomes from COSW, IFSW, IASSW, and the Commonwealth Secretariat
- Updates on COSW activities in 2024–2025
- Panel discussion: Reflections on social work in turbulent times
- Open microphone discussion chaired by David N Jones
- Closing remarks by Sylvia Daisy Romanus
Further programme information will follow, but a key speaker will be the Head of Commonwealth Communications.
Speakers will share insights on how social workers are navigating global turbulence and influencing Commonwealth and international platforms. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, ask questions, and explore ways to strengthen the profession’s voice on the global stage.
