In the lead up to World Social Work Day – and our theme this year of Harambee:Pulling Together to Unite Divided Societies – join us in this webinar hosted by IFSW Europe with academic and NGO partners from the EU Horizon ‘Responsive’ project https://www.responsive-europe.eu . We will also present IFSW Europe’s guide to responsive and participatory social work practice based on project findings.
This project explored how inclusive participation and diverse citizen voices can influence and fundamentally change and improve social services and social work, offering the potential for much more effective and democratic services and new social relations between citizens, public services and NGOs. The work demonstrated how social services can promote people’s rights more powerfully by ensuring organisational cultures and practices authentically act on citizen feedback, participation and other inputs.
This work has been presented to members and officials of the EU Parliament and diverse stakeholders responsible for developing social rights and social services.
Who is this for?
The webinar is aimed at social workers, managers, leaders, others involved in social services and stakeholders from across wider Europe and beyond.
What will you gain?
Participants will:
- Learn about the theory, practice and policy approaches of ‘responsiveness’ co-developed in the project by researchers, diverse partners, social workers in practice, people with lived experience, organisational leaders and others.
- Learn about the innovations trialled in the project which bring ‘responsiveness’ to life.
- Discuss and critique the relevance of the Responsive research and innovation project for social work practice and policy.
- Insights in to the new IFSW Europe social worker guidance based on the findings from the project.
All are welcome!
