During their visit, IFSW representatives are learning from the highly skilled and committed members of the Afghanistan Social Workers Organisation who have developed excellent networks across communities the NGO sector and the new government. This includes working with people to co-build action to empower communities in building local economies. Today UN Women applauded the ASO who have completed more than 8000 economic empowerment projects with women across the country and provide these entrepreneurial businesses ongoing support and advice. As with the IFSW partnership in Ukraine, social workers have identified the resources in the community that have formed the roots of rebuilding much-needed infrastructure that have been eroded by war.
