IFSW Asia-Pacific Statement on the Devastating Floods in Nepal
IFSW Asia-Pacific is deeply saddened and concerned by the devastating floods that have struck Nepal, causing extensive loss of life, displacement, and destruction across affected communities.
Our heartfelt condolences go to all those who have lost loved ones, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. We are also deeply concerned for those who remain missing and for the many people whose homes, livelihoods, and communities have been severely impacted.
We extend our solidarity and support to the people of Nepal, including our colleagues and friends in the social work community and the Social Workers’ Association Nepal (SWAN). We also recognise the dedication and courage of all those working on the ground in rescue, relief, and recovery efforts under extremely difficult and dangerous circumstances.
At this time of profound uncertainty and loss, IFSW Asia-Pacific stands with the people of Nepal. We hope for the safety of those still at risk, the successful rescue of those who remain missing, and strength and support for all those affected as they begin the difficult process of recovery.
Our thoughts are with Nepal.
We stand with you.
