The Barbados Association of Professional Social Workers (BAPSW) has been highlighted in their national press for acknowledging students who have undergone significant challenges.
BAPSW president Sharon Rose Gittens said, ‘We developed a Resilience Award for students in challenging circumstances whom we have worked with and mentored for three years. These students and their parents faced social more upheavals than just the pandemic and BAPSW wanted them to be recognised. I am happy to share the good news with IFSW and the world, to give hope to those who feel hopeless and to inform those who feel no one cares that Social Workers do care’.
