The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Africa is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a volunteer Representative to ANESW (Africa Network for Environmental Social Work and Disaster). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the critical intersection of social work, environmental justice, and disaster management, advocating for sustainable practices and policies that protect both communities and the environment.
Role Overview:
- Represent IFSW Africa within ANESW, providing a social work perspective on environmental and disaster-related issues.
- Engage in regional and global discussions and initiatives focused on addressing environmental challenges and disaster management through social work practices.
- Collaborate with other network members to develop and promote strategies integrating environmental sustainability and disaster preparedness into African social work.

- Individuals with experience or interest in policy advocacy, environmental issues, disaster response, and community engagement.
- Candidates from across Africa who are eager to contribute to regional and global efforts in these areas.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in ANESW meetings and activities.
- Liaise with IFSW Africa and other regional representatives to ensure coordinated action on environmental and disaster-related issues.
- Contribute to the development of position statements, policy briefs, and other resources that support the integration of environmental sustainability and disaster management into social work.
