IFSW is pleased to present its 2025 Impact Report, highlighting the continued dedication, resilience, and global influence of social work in an increasingly complex and uncertain world. This report reflects the federation’s collective efforts over the past year, recognising both the challenges encountered and the meaningful progress achieved in advancing social justice and strengthening the profession worldwide.
The 2025 report brings together contributions from our members and outlines key developments across our five regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America. The diverse initiatives emerging from each region demonstrate the adaptability and leadership of social workers, as well as their essential role in supporting communities, fostering solidarity, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
The report also provides updates from IFSW’s four commissions—Education, Ethics, Indigenous, and United Nations—whose work continues to inform policy, guide professional standards, and strengthen the federation’s global voice. Their contributions remain central to advancing social work as a transformative force grounded in human rights, dignity, and collective wellbeing.
Pascal Rudin, Interim Secretary-General, noted: “This report is not only a record of our impact, but a reflection of our shared responsibility. Across regions and contexts, social workers continue to co-create spaces of hope, connection, and sustainable eco-social change. What stands out is not only what has been achieved, but our collective capacity to move forward together in increasingly complex times.”
We invite you to explore the full report and engage with the work of our global community, whose efforts continue to build pathways towards more just, connected, and resilient societies.
