On December 10th, International Human Rights Day, Hillary Weaver, the IFSW Global Indigenous Commissioner, delivers the Federation’s Human Rights Day message.
In the video message, Dr Weaver highlights the importance of moving beyond a narrow conceptualisation of human rights. ‘Individualistic approaches’ are not enough, she points out, calling for us all to move beyond the top-down concepts of rights and to ‘acknowledge that rights must be contextualised within relationships and interwoven with responsibilities.’
