Los representantes de los trabajadores sociales de toda Europa han debatido este fin de semana cómo los recortes sociales y las políticas de austeridad están afectando a las familias. La presidenta del Consejo General del Trabajo Social (CGTS), Ana Lima, la de la FITS Europa, Cristina Martins, y el secretario general de la FITS Mundial, Rory Truell, han reclamado al nuevo Parlamento Europeo que salga de las urnas que “gobierne para las personas”. Lima ha insistido en una petición clara a los candidatos: “que luchen contra la política generalizada, que está invadida por los intereses del mercado. El que gane que trabaje de verdad para las personas que le votan. Y si son vulnerables, con más motivo”.
