A new article published in International Social Work reflects on a significant period of advocacy, democratic participation and leadership transition for the International Federation of Social Workers during the first half of 2026.
Written by IFSW Global President Eva Ponce de Leon and Interim Secretary-General Pascal Rudin, the article highlights key developments including IFSW’s engagement in global advocacy, World Social Work Day 2026, the General Meeting in Nairobi with participation from 81 countries, and the Joint World Conference on Social Work, Education and Social Development.
It also reflects on the Federation’s leadership transition and the beginning of a new chapter for IFSW, grounded in democratic dialogue, solidarity, social justice and the spirit of harambee.
