International Social Work Summer (SWS) Camp in Turkey is a joint initiative of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality (Dept. of Social Services), Muğla Branch of Turkish Association of Social Workers and School of Social Sciences at Liverpool Hope University (United Kingdom). The President of the IFSW Europe was invited to be member of the Advisory Council.
The organisers aim to create alternative & informal learning platform for social work/social science students to discuss our common professional agenda & priorities as well as to learn, share and explore different cultures and uniqueness of indigenous knowledge.
The SWS Camp has been initiated by Muğla Branch of Turkish Association of Social Workers and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in 2017 as regional summer camp for Turkish social work students with the support of local social work academics. In 2018 School of Social Sciences at Liverpool Hope University has joined the Camp organization. The SWS Camp has become a joint platform for Turkish and British Social Work/Social Sciences students in July 2018.
The SWS Camp is now open to all social work/social sciences students across the world.
