Dear IFSW members, colleagues, and friends,
On behalf of IFSW President and IFSW Secretariat, I would like to thank all of you for the significant work you are undertaking in supporting people in need through the different crises and challenges that the world is facing. We are truly inspired by the actions of national associations working together to support communities and people in need and by social work colleagues around the world expressing their solidarity with all people affected by the different crises.
With this spirit, the working team of the Secretariat is working to organize a successful and inspiring online 2022 General Meeting, May 14th – 16th.

Registration will be open next Monday, April 4th. The normal conditions will apply as for past face-to-face General Meetings in accordance with the Constitution
- Members in good standing will be entitled to full participation in the online General Meeting.
- Each member shall be entitled to 3 delegates, each of whom is entitled to contribute. Observers to the online General Meeting may be admitted with the permission of the President but may not contribute unless the President approves their request.
- Members who cannot participate in the online General Meeting are encouraged to participate via proxy votes
To have proof of the legitimacy of your representatives your organization must update their membership data before April 4th. Please, reply to any of the emails with the heading “Database update”. If you have not received the emails, kindly contact
Members organizations in good financial standing (paid the annual IFSW membership fee 2022) will be able to fully participate and vote during the General Meeting 2022.

Voting by Proxy
A Member may act as proxy for another Member not in attendance. An appointment of a proxy is valid if both the organisation giving and the organisation exercising the proxy are in good financial standing at the commencement of the General Meeting. The proxy must be received by the Secretary-General not later than the commencement of the General Meeting. Download the proxy form.
Nominations are open for the Award in Memory of Andrew Mouravieff-Apostol (Andy)
The International Federation of Social Workers is pleased to invite nominations of candidates to receive the Award in Memory of Andrew Mouravieff-Apostol. The Award in Memory of Andrew Mouravieff-Apostol is IFSWs highest level of recognition and is presented at the IFSW General Meeting.
