IFSW is delighted to launch the 2023 World Social Work Day poster

Information Type: NewsTopic: IFSW

November 14, 2022

Along with other partners, IFSW is delighted to launch the 2023 World Social Work Day poster. The theme, ‘Respecting diversity through joint social action’, stems from the People’s Charter for a New Eco Social World.

The Charter is a living document and reference point that will grow as the world’s populations share their solutions to our joint challenges, so no one is left behind and all people can live with confidence, security, and peace in a sustainable world. It identifies the need to promote and support local and global action and is the template to unlock the means to co-design and co-build a new eco social world.

The theme recognises that change happens locally through our diverse leaderful communities. #WSWD2023 provides an opportunity to acknowledge how communities can make powerful actions that lead to inclusive social transformation. There are now many examples on the IFSW website that highlight social work’s role in working with communities in this journey.

IFSW President, Joachim Mumba said, “We invite all stakeholders to a new sustainable eco social world to join with us on this journey we must all take. Together, we will bring our local and global experience to make transformative change happen”.

You may download the #WSWD2023 poster here. We also invite member organisations to translate the poster into their own languages. Last year, the poster was translated into 100+ languages highlighting global professional unity and common action.

We hope that most organisations will be able to translate the poster into their own language and send it to us to publish it on the IFSW website. If this is not possible, please copy the text below, write your translation line by line underneath, and email it to :

  • Respecting diversity through joint social action
  • World Social Work Day
  • 21st March 2023

Please bold the word corresponding to “through” as this is displayed on the poster in a different colour.

Thank you all.
