Social Work Education in Romania

  • Is it social Work a University degree?  Yes, in Romania social work is a University degree.
  • How many years do you have to study?  To obtain a university degree in social work you have to study 3 years  in an institution of higher education with specialization in social  work, accredited by the law.
  • Do you have to register to practice social work? ccording to Law 466/2004 on the status of social worker, the title of  social worker may be held by the person who obtained a bachelor’s degree  of social work issued by an institution of higher education with  specialization in social work, accredited by the law and who is  registered in The National Register of Social Workers in Romania.
