The ASW Bangladesh is both a professional association and trade union for social workers. It is established in 1997 and affiliated with Bangladesh Free Trade Union Congress (BFTUC). Its head office located in Dhaka. Three major aims of the ASW are: Organise and protect the rights and interests of the social workers in Bangladesh; Protect the interest of ASW members and campaign for their fundamental rights at workplace and in sociality; Actively participate in social policy development and implementation at local and national level.
